Health care professionals, coaches, and athletes alike recognize the benefits of sports and exercise. In its 9th year, the YIPS conference addresses strategies to keep kids playing, safely.

Welcome our guest speaker, Dr. Mark Cucuzzella, an internationally recognized family physician and marathoner with expertise in natural running as a key tool to prevent injury.

Presentations include: lacrosse injuries, eating disorders, baseball injuries pros to kids, stress and recovery in athletes, and more.



Objectives
Following this program, participants will:

  1. Explain foot biomechanics patterns and "natural running" strategies
  2. Name practice structure organization techniques to reduce injury risk in soccer players
  3. Be able to name the signs of eating disorders in athletes
  4. Explain post-concussion vision and concussion issues
  5. Explain what juuling is and name the physical effects of juuling in kids
  6. Describe off season training practices that professional baseball players use and how it could apply to youth sports
  7. Explain how recovery in the training cycle is critical to improvements
