Hematology and Cancer Care for the Primary Care Community- Continuity of Care for Cancer Survivors: Connecting Cancer Specialists and Primary Care Services

1. Be able to understand the population who will benefit from molecular cancer screening
2. Be able to discuss the risks and benefits of molecular cancer screening in an asymptomatic person
3. Understand Primary Care role in survivorship- shared responsibility
4. Understand pathways to early cancer diagnosis-Symptoms, Labs and Imaging
5. Understand principles of co-managing the treatment of oncology patients
6. Understand common causes of anemia to include the appropriate workup of platelet disorders and abnormal white blood cell counts
7. Understand when and how to screen for ovarian cancer and when to refer to a gynecologic oncologist
8. Understand current presentations and treatments of endometrial cancer
9. Review cervical and vulva cancer screening and the pelvic exam
10. Understand the indications and clinical applications of radiation therapy for benign diseases
11. Evaluate the risk-benefit profile and safety considerations in radiation therapy for benign conditions
12. Analyze recent advances and emerging techniques in radiation therapy for benign diseases
13. Understand the rationale for lung cancer screening
14. Understand the updated eligibility criteria for lung cancer screening
15. Be able to manage findings identified on lung cancer screening
16. Understand common causes of anemia and appropriate workup
17. Understand principles of co-management of treatment patient
